A flagship location is a necessity for any expanding business and FountHackney is definitely that. Located within three railway arches close to London Fields, this was the first site for FountLondon. It encompasses something for each aspect: EAT-PLAY-SHOP-WORK-EVENTS and since it opened in 2015, it has received nationwide attention.
FountHackney was created by Elena Mackey and Rachel Munro-Peebles after a conversation between them sparked an idea. Whilst there was, and still are, many brilliant places for local families, there seemed to be lacking a place for everyone. Wouldn’t it be great to visit one place for all of your needs? Look no further…
Originally intended as a three month pop-up, our EAT space was successfully taken over by CookDaily in November. We’re so pleased to announce that they have since signed a longer lease until 2020! Having come from Boxpark Shoreditch, this is their first OWN restaurant space and we’re so happy to have them here. Open 12pm – 11pm, Monday to Sunday, these guys are bringing a unique and atmospheric vibe to the site.
FountNursery lies at the hub of FountHackney and makes up the PLAY aspect; given an Outstanding rating from Ofsted, the nursery accommodates children from 6 months to 5 years. Split into three age groups (babies, toddlers and pre-school), the nursery takes over 1.5 of the three arches. Each room has been carefully designed and resourced to aid children’s development, emotionally and physically, which helps give parents peace of mind that they are leaving their child in the right place.
If full time nursery seems a bit daunting, FountNursery also runs a drop-in creche system to provide working parents with childcare options. During the school holidays, the nursery also puts in place holiday camps for parents who need a few days to themselves. The creche and holiday camp must be booked a week before, but how’s that for flexible childcare?
Originally, our SHOP space consisted of one permanent shop (East End Prints) and a pop-up space for retail start-ups. Since we opened, we have seen Cuemars, GoodOrdering, Urban Makers, Lobella Loves, Sparkle Child, Hustle & Fox, Beau Loves and many more incredible brands set up shop in this space. Whilst the pop-up space was hugely successful for each brand and in turn led them to more opportunities around retail, in April 2018, The New Craft House took over the entire space and created a creative studio, pop-up space and workshop area.
Alongside all of the above, FountHackney has WORKspaces available for those freelancers looking for a new view besides their own four walls. With the option to work inside, or outside (especially in the warmer months), you can often find several people taking advantage of our brilliant restaurant space to work from or our suntrap of a courtyard.
We also have several spaces which can be used for EVENTS; whether private events, corporate events, product launches, seasonal parties, weekend workshops/classes or supper clubs, we can work with you to create your perfect venue.
