Columbia Road
FountLondon – Columbia Road
Columbia Road maybe a popular destination these days, but Hackney Road is the original. Originally, it was used to driving livestock from Essex to Smithfield Market. As time went on, in the 19th century, the road changed dramatically as it became increasingly commercialised. Hackney Road is one of the most unique architectural and urban roads in London.
61 Hackney Road sits in the middle of the stretch & has a rather interesting history. It closed as a pub, The Duke of Clarence, in 2006, making way for FountLondon. Sitting opposite the popular destination, Columbia Road Flower Market, this building consists of three units.
Similarly to FountLondon – Aldgate East, this building has been pivotal in our success of supporting the extent of small businesses over the years.
