Fountlondon is the Brainchild of Rachel Munro-Peebles and Elena Mackey. Fountlondon will have a chic, modern nursery, and will be home to some very exciting brands and start-ups. Oh not forgetting the fabulous food of Il Cudega all housed under one roof, (three arches to be precise).
Two local mums, Rachel and Elena love the edginess and creativity of Hackney. They met at the school gates, then several coffees later came up with a fount of ideas.
Together they realised they were onto something special, and combined their unique talents to create something exciting. Rachel and Elena bonded over a desire to nurture innovative creative new brands. They also share a passion to nurture young children in their specially designed FountNursery. Rachel and Elena took the decision to bring this concept alive.
Rachel has been in East London for over 15 years, she started out in Fine Art and was part of the Brit Art scene of the 90’s. She moved into Buying/PR for Harvey Nichols and worked with some of the biggest names in Fashion, (she knows a little something about retail). Rachel lives with her artist husband and two kids in Shoreditch, and is very much part of the foundations of the local area and community.
Elena Mackey lives in Hackney with her daughter. After working in the Middle East for several years, and trained as a Neuro Linguistic Practitioner (NLP), a Life Coach, Reiki Master, English Teacher, Art Therapist and Counselor. After coming back to Blighty and finding her home in Hackney, Elena found her heart in the Early Years sector. She has graduated in Early Childhood Studies. Elena sees FountNursery as an opportunity to create a high quality practice that will raise the standards in the Early Years sector.
Rachel and Elena have combined their Founts of knowledge & experience to create Fountlondon, their only problem is they have so many great innovative ideas… ‘We just need more space!’ So watch this space…
